About Us
Shawn Wooten owns and runs The Hit Dawg Baseball Academy located at 312 Lake Hazeltine Drive in Chaska, MN. The Hit Dawg Academy is a 22,500 square foot indoor baseball facility with 30 foot ceilings, long baseball tunnels, and two dirt pitching mounds.
Shawn is a former Major League Baseball player who played professionally for 17 years, and helped the Anaheim Angels win the World Series in 2002. He is a former catcher and knows the game well. In addition to teaching youth players at the Hit Dawg Academy, Shawn is currently a Manager in the Minor Leagues for the San Diego Padres.
Shawn has carefully chosen his coaches based on their baseball background and knowledge of the game. Shawn wants kids to learn the right way to play the game, so he knows how important chosing a coaching staff is.
